Types of retirement visas available for retirees
The Pensionado Visa
This retirement visa is helpful for those retirees who get a pension
from the government or private corporations and whose monthly income
is not less than $500 per month. You will need to furnish the proof
for your income, usually in form of pension statements.
Under this retirement visa scheme, you will
get many benefits. You will get exemptions for importing your household
items, cars, etc., the downside being you cannot qualify for a Panama
Passport or Panamanian nationality.
Rentista Retirado (Private Income Retiree Visa)
If you do not have a monthly pension, it is still possible to retire
in Panama under this scheme. Here, your retirement lump sum should
be deposited for a period of five years with National Bank of Panama.
The deposit should yield at least $750 per month. After five years
your retirement visa will be renewed provided you renew your deposits
with the National Bank of Panama. Under this scheme, you will be
eligible for many types of discounts. You can also travel with a
Panamanian passport. However, a Panamanian passport will not entitle
you for a Panamanian citizenship.
Needless to say, Panama offers many benefits
to retirees who wish to live a peaceful, happy life. Panama is rated
the number one destination in the world for its inexpensive lifestyle
and relatively lower crime rate.
Retire to panama and start a peaceful, enjoyable
life at an affordable price.
