Interoceanic Highway; Route to Development and Prosperity on Panama's Caribbean Coast

Work on Panama's interoceanic highway continues toward completion according to an article in February in La Prensa. Despite unusual rain for Panama's summer or dry season work continued 24 hours a day on pilings for the highway bridge across the Chagres River in Central Panama.

Paving of the Panama interoceanic highway began in April with an anticipated finishing date of April 2009. Soon the Panama interoceanic highway will complement to Panama Canal for cross-isthmus transit of goods.
